Xiao Long Bao, also known as soup dumplings, are a traditional Chinese delicacy renowned for their delicate wrappers and succulent fillings. Our rendition features a mouthwatering blend of tender savoury chicken infused with a zesty ginger lemon soup base.

 

These delectable dumplings boast a rich history dating back to the streets of Nanxiang, a suburb of Shanghai, in the late 19th century. Originally crafted by a chef seeking to innovate traditional dumpling recipes, Xiao Long Bao quickly gained popularity for its unique combination of flavours and delightful presentation.

 

The first dumplings is always eaten on its own. To savour its full essence, gently pick up a dumpling with chopsticks, taking care not to break the delicate skin. Puncturing the wrapper releases a burst of aromatic steam, revealing the piping-hot broth within. Take a small nibble to allow the fragrant soup to cool slightly before sipping, then indulge in the tender chicken filling and subtle hints of ginger and lemon. Enjoy the rest by dipping in some brown rice vinegar with thin julienned pieces of ginger. 

 

A mixture of chicken ǀ ginger ǀ spring onion ǀ garlic ǀ soy sauce ǀ chicken stock ǀ lemon juice ǀ gelatine mixed together & wrapped in a wheat flour dumpling skin.
